Investing in Our Youth’s Blue Leaf Initiative Mental Health Forum, which aims to promote positive conversations about mental health, has been backed by Southern Ports in its latest round of community investment funding.
Southern Ports Regional Manager – Bunbury Lee Smith said the Community Investment Program continued to be popular in the South West and he’s proud to back local groups, projects and organisations that are making a positive difference in the regions. “Supporting our community is second nature to Southern Ports and we’re thrilled when groups like Investing In Our Youth put forward mental health-focused programs such as the Blue Leaf Initiative for support,” said Mr Smith.
Blue Leaf Initiative Coordinator Bec McLevie said the Mental Health Forum will talk directly to young people about the importance of resilience, mental wellbeing, and connection to community. “We hope that by supporting young people to connect with each other and with local services, we can encourage early intervention and prevent suicide,” said Ms McLevie. “This funding from Southern Ports will help ensure our forum is a welcoming environment where the young people can relax between hearing important speakers.”
Thank you to Southern Ports for their support!
