Gathering the entire Blue Leaf team in one place is a rare occasion. Usually, we’re spread out across the South West, covering various events and trainings aimed at supporting our community. However, last Thursday was a special day as we convened in Collie for a comprehensive boundary training workshop conducted by Mental Strides.
The workshop focused on a crucial aspect of our work: creating safe boundaries while providing support to others. Led by Mental Strides, experts in mental health training, the session was both engaging and interactive. We delved into practical strategies and discussed real-life scenarios to enhance our understanding of maintaining professionalism and ethical boundaries in our roles.
What made the workshop particularly impactful was its interactive nature. We didn’t just sit and listen; we actively engaged in group discussions, sharing experiences and insights. Breaking off into smaller groups allowed us to explore different perspectives and brainstorm effective ways to support individuals while respecting boundaries.
As a team committed to suicide prevention and mental health support, the training provided by Mental Strides was invaluable. It reinforced the importance of clear communication, ethical decision-making, and self-care in our daily interactions. These skills are essential for maintaining trust and ensuring effective support for those in need.
